A coffee shop in Spokane, Wash., angered leftists recently with a sign reading, “Trans women are retarded men.”
The 2nd Base Espresso bikini barista coffee stand has a history of courting controversy in the leftist community with its right-leaning messages, but its latest roadside marquee sparked backlash from LGBT supporters, who staged protests and waved gay flags across the street from the establishment claiming it promoted hate.
“They used some pretty horrendous language targeting trans people. And I think that is obviously disgusting. I think we should come here and fight against that,” one protester told KXLY.
Footage shows protesters carrying signs reading, “We’re your neighbors! Not your punchline!” and “Espresso! Not Express Hate!” while counter-protesters defended the business’s right to display the message, with one demonstrator’s sign reading, “1st Amend is 4 Everyone.”
City councilwoman Sarah Dixit reportedly contacted law enforcement to determine whether the sign violated public decency laws, but was told there was nothing that could be done since it was a private business.
Likewise, Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown’s office responded that the sign’s messaging was First Amendment-protected speech.
“While we do not condone this type of messaging, it is our understanding that it’s protected under the First Amendment,” the city’s communication director stated. “Anyone who believes they’ve been subjected to a hate crime or bias incident is encouraged to call the Washington Hate Crimes and Bias Incidents Hot Line.”
The business does not appear to have any intention of backing down.
Photos show 2nd Base now displays a sign with drink specials geared towards triggered leftists, with caffeinated beverages such as the “TDS Latte,” the “Tranni Freeze Slushie,” the “Chud Mocha,” and the “Deplorable Latte.”
Previous signs have also promoted gun rights, riffed on the trans community and remarked on current issues, including immigration.

Support that business and purchase coffee products from them. Go out of your way to give them business if you are anywhere near there within a reasonable driving distance. This is how you defeat these mentally ill LGBTQ sick disgusting perverts and pigs!
