A female Florida sheriff’s deputy is being criticized for overreacting after footage showed her behaving erratically while detaining two innocent electricians.
The incident unfolded Thursday, July 16, when Hillsborough County sheriffs deputies responded to a call of a woman being held captive overnight at gunpoint by her ex-boyfriend, Christopher Dmuchowski, 34, who later fled and ambushed two officers before being shot dead.
As more officers arrived at the chaotic scene attempting to locate suspects, a female deputy rushed to help detain two electrician bystanders in the area, walking up to one while training her sidearm on him.
“On your back!” the female deputy told an electrician who was on his stomach, before telling him, “on your stomach” and hand-cuffing him.
The female officer next told the electrician to scoot up against a wall, as the other officer shouted at him to “sit still.”
“She told me to scoot over there,” the man replied, adding, “Y’all confusing, and y’all look scared, like y’all don’t know who y’all want to shoot.”
The comment apparently triggered the female officer, who then got in the man’s face shrieking, “I need you to shut the f— up! You hear me!”
Deputy Sopharmony Muon was hospitalized and treated for his injuries after sustaining a shot to his face and hand, and was released just days later.
Meanwhile, the crazed female deputy is being criticized as yet another example of why women make poor police officers.

She turned her back on the other guy without handcuffing. Had he been a bad actor, she could have been jumped from behind! Maybe screaming like a 5 year old toddler shouldn’t have been her first priority.

Intentionally shouting conflicting orders (e.g., ‘Stand up!’ and ‘Get down!’) is police SOP. That puts the targeted citizen in a no-win situation where they can be arrested for ‘failing to follow lawful orders’ and ‘endangering/assaulting an officer.’
