A car plowed into a busy area in Leipzig, Germany, on Monday, killing two and injuring around 24 others.
The European nation has been struck by several similar attacks in recent years, with this incident committed by a currently unnamed 33-year-old man.
Burkhard Jung, Lord Mayor of Leipzig, said in a press briefing, “The police have apprehended the suspected assailant. We still don’t really know the motivation. We don’t know anything about the perpetrator.”
Footage of the suspect being apprehended shows what appears to be a white man with a military-style haircut and several tattoos.
