Tehran rejected a ceasefire proposal from President Donald Trump Thursday, according to the New York Times, which cited unnamed Iranian and Iraqi sources.
“The failed mediation effort came as Mr. Trump was threatening to escalate the war and target Iran’s critical infrastructure,” The New York Times said Thursday.
While details of the purported deal are not publicly known, Iranian officials said it was the only offer on the table. After the New York Times published the initial report of the rejected proposal, the Iraqi government denied the claim on social media.
The New York Times report claimed Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi brought Washington’s new ceasefire proposal to Tehran after meeting with Trump at the White House on July 14:
Mr. al-Zaidi traveled to Tehran with a delegation of senior Iraqi officials and met with President Masoud Pezeshkian; Iran’s top negotiator, Brig. Gen. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf; and its foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, according to local media reports.
Mr. Araghchi told state television that Iran and Iraq, which share a border, had mutual economic, political and security interests and close ties and that the visit was significant given the current circumstances in the region.
Mr. Araghchi said that Mr. al-Zaidi had shared his “views and impressions” from his trip to Washington, but that Tehran and Washington already had enough mediators. “The problem is not passing messages,” he said. “The problem is America’s outlook, which is illogical, greedy and controlling.”
The Islamic Republic rejected the purported ceasefire because it saw it as a temporary deal which did not resolve the issue of control over the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump’s alleged ceasefire proposal comes as the Iran war continues to escalate, threatening global energy markets and the world economy.
“Two Iranian officials said that the country’s armed forces were anticipating — and preparing for — the possibility of the war expanding if Mr. Trump carries through with his threats to strike the capital of Tehran and critical infrastructure. If he does, the officials said, Iran will expand the fight regionally, including by striking Tel Aviv and asking its Houthi allies to close Bab al-Mandab, a strategic waterway in the Red Sea,” The New York Times said.
According to Trump however, it is Tehran that wants to make a deal, not Washington. On Wednesday the President said:
“They’re getting hit so hard, and they want to make a deal — but I say they’re not ready to make a deal because every time they make a deal they want to change it and everything. They’re not ready.”

All this war/deal/peace/war/deal/peace constant back and forth is to get people confused and caring less about what is going on.
When rejecting and accepting a proposal produce the same outcome, you may as well reject it. Less work.
LIES DON’T LIE, THEY REVEAL SPIRITUAL ALLEGIANCE… Knowing the spiritual father of unrepentant devil worshipers is the devil, and the devil is the father of all lies, and unrepentant devil worshipers lack the ability not to sin/harm/destroy, in and of themselves, outside God’s unpredictable, unmerited common grace, believe nothing an unrepentant devil worshiper speaks or writes, unless what they speak or write is a sin or exposes the sins they have committed, then believe their confession of sins but don’t buy into their sin, is so far as you commit the sins they commit and committed.
DEFINITIVE AND PERMANENT VICTORY, NOTHING LESS… President Trump 45-46-47 didn’t propose a ceasefire, that’s an obvious lie/sin propagated by unrepentant devil worshipers. In the unholy war that has been unjustly waged for 47 years against our best citizens and best humans by the unrepentant, suicidal, apocalyptic, Iranian/Insanian, Islamic/Satanic supremacists, our constitutionally protected, required and God commanded military action holy mission must be to completely cripple the enemies of the true God, both here and abroad, so they have no other option than to come crawling on their bloody hands and bloody knees to the social righteousness Crusaders, begging to live under the power, authority and protection of our best citizens and best humans aka those who are confirmed slaves to Godly righteousness, love, justice and mercy. Amen
Iran is just begging for a deal, so says Trump.
Trump is squirming, trying to make a temporary deal to open the Strait, without angering his zionist controllers. He had a deal, then Israel immediately bombed Beirut. Israel now defied Trump again, refused his commitment for Israel to leave Lebanon. And, Trump just backed down on nuclear cooperation with Saudi Arabia.
It’s crystal clear, folks, Israel controls Trump. Trump is a broken, failed person, and will always be, his mistakes are colossal, will never be overlooked. He chose a very bad one way fork in the road. Trump, his zionist friends, neocons, and zio-evangelists, are MIGA.
I wonder what people believe they’re “winning.” Nukes are fake; a scare tactic. There’s plenty of evidence. So that means Iran is in on the gag, since they are supposedly claiming to be pursuing nukes. Japan was firebombed in World War 2… fuel jelly bombs. They also hit Dresden, Germany with the same weapons, and the damage is identical.
Whatever we’re “winning”, it must be the high food and fuel costs. As long as Iran doesn’t get those nukes. Plus, the tariffs. The US produces no electronics worth mentioning. Computer components and other electronics prices have skyrocketed over 200% since Trump implemented the first tariffs. People who know nothing keep saying, “Make it in the US.” Sure. It’s easy to say that. It won’t happen. If it does, robots will be the employees; not humans. Anything made in the US costs ten times more for the same products. Have you seen the cost of the Ford F150? 75K. But no… “buy American.” I don’t think so.
Nuclear reactions do not exist? How were all the elements formed? How do nuclear plants generate electricity? How does the Sun generate so much light?
Cite any “evidence” nuclear weapons do not exist.
You have some serious reading comprehension problems. There is overwhelming proof that Hiroshima and Nagasaki were firebombed, and not nuked at all. The cleanup started the very next day….whereby nuclear weapons supposedly render an area full of radiation and uninhabitable for 10000 years. You and many others lack basic math skills.
Neither Iran nor Israel are anywhere close to finished with their humiliation rituals for the US.
He ignored all of the warnings, now we will all pay the price.
Tired of “winning” yet?
So , peace, then war, then peace then war. 2 weeks of peace, but wait now 2 weeks more of bombing, then peace. Etc.
This bleeds over to internal functions of the republic. Like 2 weeks of lockdowns turns out to be 2 years, etc. Short term martial law and new elections for Ukraine but is actually a proxy vessel state for war, with Russia getting a itchy nuke trigger.
The fools have trust in vaccines and peace declarations. But fewer fools these days. Instead now most trust nothing, and chaos is rising.
I was a conservative once. Now I’m not anything. Not political. All politicians are working toward the same goals and distracting people with non-issues to gain their loyalty. In turn, Trump is turning out to be the single worst president for the US that has ever been. The kowtowing to Israel, the wars, the tariffs. He’ll just blame someone else. Whenever I say something about it, suddenly I’m a “libtard.” That’s a copout.
Also, the Tate brothers are pimps. Supporting them is just wrong. I know the audience seems to like them… but it’s wrong. I have no problems with them being arrested. It’s funny that all of the Tate videos seem to have AI generation glitches, including his arrest video, and another video of a headless man walking around behind him.
According to the US government’s actions, there are about 349 Million people in the “not anything” category. So you are in good company.
Tell us, for fun, how did the border get closed, if all politicians work for the same thing?
You turned out to be a storyteller.
So, how does stopping the invasion of 5 million people a year make Trump the worst president ever? Were you born yesterday?
Total war= endless lies and cons
To the talking heads how many lies and cons until zero trust?
We are that condition, so are in total war. Part of that war is all sides lying and conning endlessly. So cons to get money out of the stock market and cryptocurrency. The endless lies by all sides is part of the war, peace then war, cycles etc. Result is raging chaos. What happens in chaos? It means disorder, is that good for economy or bad?
Imagine if AJ gave different opposing instructions to his staff, How will that turn out? Likely his people will go haywire, some may quit, it will be chaos and business will suffer.
This is what going on now in an increasing level in the world’s failing republics.
